You’ve no doubt heard the story of the crisis in Ukraine by now. But, as we’ve been told all our lives, there are two sides to every story. So, which side of the story have you heard?
There’s the MSM/establishment/dinosaur media side of the story. Let’s call it the “Team NATO” narrative. In this version of events, the bloodthirsty insane psychopathic literally Hitler leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, woke up a few weeks ago and suddenly decided to invade the free, peaceful nation of Ukraine for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHATSOEVER!
And then there’s the “alternative” media side of the story. Let’s call it the “Team BRICS” narrative. In this version of the story, the valiant defender of human liberty, Vladimir Putin, is fighting to protect the free peoples of the world from the globalists and their sinister machinations.
As I say, you’ve doubtless heard one or another of these stories by now. Or, if you’re really paying attention, you might have heard both. But I’m here to tell you today that you’ve been lied to your whole life. There aren’t two sides to every story. There are at least three, maybe more.
Now, you know me. Here at The Corbett Report, I like to go deeper than the simplistic, binary narratives you get in the establishment press or in much of the so-called alternative press. So let’s dive deeper today and look at the third side of the Ukraine crisis story.
What? Three sides to the story? That’s right, and in this important edition of The Corbett Report Subscriber, I’ll show you the deep background that situates the current Ukraine crisis in the larger context of the globalist agenda. by James Corbett You’ve no doubt heard the story of the crisis in Ukraine by now. The 2D StoryFirst, let’s just get up to speed with the bare facts of the mainstream 2D narrative. As you’ll already know from my recent work on the topic (see here and here and here), Ukraine/Russia tensions ramped up considerably over the past few weeks. A series of cyberattacks on Ukrainian government websites, a White House-endorsed conspiracy theory that Russia was planning a false flag event to justify an invasion and a series of bold proclamations that Russia was going to invade Ukraine by such-and-such a date all added to the tensions. The final straws prompting this military assault appear to have been:
This, as we now know, culminated with the Russian State Duma adopting a resolution calling on Putin to recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), which Putin did on February 21st. Three days later, he announced a “special military operation” to protect the people of the Donbas. That “special military operation” very quickly expanded beyond the Donbas, striking targets in and near the Ukrainian capital of Kiev and elsewhere around the country. Given that this is an unfolding news event, I cannot provide you with the very latest news from Ukraine, but here are the latest developments as of press time (Monday February 28th 11:00 AM JST):
As for the latest troop movements and battle reports: do not believe anything you read. Half of it is outright fake news illustrated by literal video game footage and, as we all know, the first casualty of war is truth. As I say, these events are unfolding by the hour, and the situation on the ground will doubtless already be different by the time you’re reading these words. So here are the more important questions: What does this mean? Why is it happening? Who is the aggressor here? And who is the bad guy? The Deep BackgroundThe answers to those questions (“What does this mean? Why is it happening? Who is the aggressor here? And who is the bad guy?”) are perfectly straightforward if you’re unfortunate enough to get all of your news and information from the establishment media: Putin is a singularly evil psychopath, the Russian people have bloodlust, and this is all part of a larger gambit by the scheming Russians to form a Novorossiyan Empire. It isn’t hard to see why this is so. For, if you do listen only to the mockingbirds of the MSM, you believe that the history of Russian/Ukrainian relations began in 2014, when Russia “invaded” Crimea. You have heard from this fake news media that Russia simply decided to march into Ukraine in 2014, annex a chunk of Ukraine, and then taunt the international community for years by placing its military closer and closer to NATO bases. Indeed, if you took everything presented in this “Team NATO” narrative at face value, it would be impossible to see these unfolding events as anything but an act of unprovoked aggression by Putin and the Russians. But, as I noted in my recent Questions for Corbett episode on this crisis, your understanding of history depends entirely on where you “start the clock” on the history of recent events. If you started the clock on February 24, 2022, then the matter is simple: the Russians suddenly declared war on Ukraine and began an “unprovoked and unjustified” invasion of that country. But why not start the clock on February 19, 2022, when Ukrainian President Zelensky revealed his intentions to make Ukraine a nuclear power in violation of the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, when US Vice President Kamala Harris accused Russia of spreading lies and disinformation before threatening “unprecedented sanctions” if Russia “further” invades Ukraine, and when German Chancellor Olaf Scholz berated Putin and the Russians for their aggressive actions and dismissed claims of genocide against the Russian-speaking people of the Donbas as “ridiculous, to put it bluntly”? Wouldn’t those three statements provide a different perspective from which to view these events? Why stop there? Why not start the clock in January, when the unprecedented airlift of hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons and ammunition began arriving in Ukraine? Or how about going back to last September, during the joint Ukrainian/NATO military exercises? Or maybe we should begin the story in February 2014, when the Ukrainian parliament passed the (unconstitutional) law to strip Viktor Yanukovych of his presidency? But then, why not hark back to the sniper fire in Maidan square later that month, which, it was later shown, was coordinated by the opposition in order to sow chaos and reap the whirlwind of regime change? Then again, we could cast our minds back to Victoria Nuland’s infamous “fuck the EU” phone call in which she, as the then-US Assistant Secretary of State, constructed the post-coup Ukrainian government with US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt. Or we could look back to 2013, when Nuland admitted that the US had spent $5 billion on “democracy promotion” activities in Ukraine. But perhaps the clock is best started in 1990, when US Secretary of State James Baker promised Mikhail Gorbachev that NATO would expand “not one inch eastward” after the reunification of Germany and when German diplomat Jürgen Chrobog assured the Russians “that we would not expand NATO beyond the Elbe.” Or should we begin the narrative in WWII, when Bandera and his Ukrainian nationalist brethren collaborated with the Nazis in a bid to maintain independence from Russia? Or maybe we should go back to the Holodomor, when Stalin intentionally starved over three million Ukrainians as part of an attempt to crush Ukrainian nationalist movements. Or to 1918, when, according to Putin, the modern state of Ukraine was created by Lenin, who rejected the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Soviet Republic’s request to be incorporated into Soviet Russia as a separate entity, and instead insisted that “one government for all of Ukraine” be created. Or maybe we should start the clock in the 11th century, when the Kievan Rus federation reached its greatest extent under Yaroslav the Wise. As you can see, everyone’s view of history is coloured by the context in which they see that history and is shaped by how far back into history they want to go and by what events they want to cherry-pick from that history in order to make their case. Having said that, it is easy to see that the mainstream narrative that “Russia is invading because Putin is Hitler” is an aggressively stupid story that could be swallowed only by the most historically ignorant people on the planet (i.e., those who get their news from CNN). It is much more realistic to point out that Russia’s actions have to be seen in light of the documented history of NATO aggression and intervention in Ukraine and of NATO’s undeniable attempt to support the Western-backed government in Kiev’s campaign to slaughter the Russian speakers of the Donbas region. So, case closed, right? Putin’s the good guy and he’s standing up to the globalists. There. Mystery solved. But wait. It’s not quite that simple . . . 2D Chess is for LosersThere’s nothing more satisfying than a good guy/bad guy narrative. We have so internalized this form of storytelling that for many it is almost impossible not to see the world in these terms. Two people are fighting. One of them is a bad guy. Therefore, the other one is a good guy. The problem comes when we try to map that simplistic, binary, black-and-white storyline on to real-world events. What “guy” are you talking about? Do you still believe that Putin is Russia? That’s as absurd as saying that Biden is NATO (or even the US). And can we jump from NATO bad to BRICS good that easily? Well, if you’ve been listening to me over the last decade and a half you will know that it’s not that easy. The BRICS are controlled opposition. Putin and Xi are both tyrannical thugs. The Chinese government and the Russian government both love controlling their citizens every thought and speech and action, and their supposed opposition to the globalist empire is a smoke-and-mirrors distraction hiding the fact that they are absolutely on-board with the ultimate agenda of world control. Or are you the type of person who watches the clip of Schwab bragging about all the cabinets the World Economic Forum has “penetrated” around the world without noticing that the second person he lists in his stable of WEF acolytes is Vladimir Putin? Are you the type of person who conveniently forgets how to read when Xi and Putin release documents extolling the creation of the New World Order that call on all states “to protect the United Nations-driven international architecture” and declare that “In order to to accelerate the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” states will have to “take practical steps in key areas of cooperation” like “vaccines and epidemics control, financing for development, climate change, sustainable development, including green development, industrialization, digital economy, and infrastructure connectivity”? Are you the type of person who constantly forgets that Vladimir Putin is close personal friends with Henry Kissinger? Are you the type of person who believes that the Russian COVID vaccine is the good kind of vaccine and the Russian vaccine passports are the good kind of vaccine passports and the Russian COVID clown show is the good kind of COVID clown show? Are you the type of person who believes that preemptive invasions of foreign countries are good when they’re done by the good guys for good reasons and that the people who die in such operations are just collateral damage (who probably deserved to die anyway)? I don’t know about you, but I’m not that type of person. The sad truth for those who are still waiting for the White Hat on the White Horse to deliver them their fix of Hopium is that Putin is an “anti-globalist crusader” in the exact same way as Donald “Fill the Swamp” Trump is an “anti-globalist crusader,” which is to say, not at all. Because if you are still waiting on the sealed indictments and the watermarked ballots and Vladimir the Great to upset the globalist apple cart, you have yet to understand the nature of the globalist system. ConclusionThe uncomfortable truth, as always, is that the war has not just begun. It’s been going on for generations. And it’s not a war of nation against nation, or even valiant “anti-globalist crusaders” like WEF-connected, biosecurity-promoting, false flag-perpetrating, political opponent-assassinating Vladimir Putin against the global control structure. It is a global war against you. To the extent that wars are being waged between the elitists, they are only being waged to determine which group of elitists get to rule over you and in what way. Now more than ever it is important for those of us who have escaped the mainstream narrative “Team NATO” trap to reject the “alternative” narrative “Team BRICS” trap and redeclare our personal sovereignty. A choice between the two wings of the same bird of prey is no choice at all. Or, to put it in a more familiar way: “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.” So, let’s keep the real background of these events in mind as we watch this military spectacle play out on our computer screens and let’s avoid getting caught up in cheerleading for the army of one branch or another of the global elitist class. Having said all of that, let’s bring some levity to the end of this very serious discussion. I present to you the following Moment of Zen from everyone’s favorite American establishment ghoul, John “Skull & Bones” Kerry: That’s right, the climate billionaires are upset that the military-industrial billionaires are hogging the propaganda spotlight that should be shining on their pet “existential threat.” Clearly the Ukrainians should be more worried about the centimetres of global sea level rise, which the Nostradamuses at the UN warn will be inundating us a century from now if we don’t appease the weather gods. You can’t make this stuff up. Who would even try? |

Corbett you magnificent bastard ,you did it again!!
Its hard for me to support either side if i dont agree with either one. The people in Ukraine dont really have a choice in what to do. The U.S cant really help without starting World War. The Russian military it overmatched for most situations right on their border. I definitly dont want to see people dying either way and its a really sad thing. But I dont want to police the world or condone that through my support in the U.S. Everyone says democracy and its become that flash word that means freedom. I just dont understand how its possible to be a demcocracy fighting for freedom. I could see being a republic fighting for freedom. Collectively fighting for individual freedom instead of individually fighting for a collective and calling that freedom. Or something like that. Have you ever heard the U.S administration say anything about individual freedom or liberty? Let alone any words about freedom or liberty?
I see Ukraine as the world war. Like James said, its waged against the people. If Ukraine wins and the west influences it…then it results in the same problems the U.S is having today. It sure is better than dying so they have no choice but to stand proud and fight the incomning enemy….im just saying the enemy is everything. Not just the systems with the best illusion of freedom. ALL of the systems that prevent true individual sovereignty.
With that said, that is what im rooting for in Ukraine. The blood spilt better be for that. Much love
It is simply not that simplistic which is the point of the article.
Part One
I notice no mention was made of Putin’s call for de-militarization and de-nazification.
Why de-Nazification? Because Russia has been attacked by fascism losing 25 million people. Where is the fascism now?
Financed by the US, starting with Stetsko the fascist head of the Ukranian right, was welcomed into America by Jean Kirkpatrick, Secretary of State under Reagan, fascism is the government.
It started with the ABN or Anti Bolshevik Nations, a gaggle of fascist countries that then morphed into WACL.
For those not familiar with the latter, the history of Ukraine could never be understood.
Best to go back to the Intermarian, a concept few have heard of but harkens back to the 1930’s.
Intermarian
Part Two
[This article—originally published as a paper for the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES)—is the first in our series of in-depth analyses focusing on the activities of the far-right and its various contemporaneous and historical liaisons with intelligence agencies.
The presidency of Donald Trump has accelerated an ambiguous relationship to Europe, in the hope of shifting Europe’s—and particularly NATO’s—center of gravity from the Paris-Berlin axis to a more Central and Eastern Europe hub; a hub which sees itself as the “other” Europe—that is, opposed to the European Union and its so-called “liberal” social-welfare programs and values.
After the Russian Revolution, the West backed first a military invasion and then the White armies against the new Soviet state. When these efforts failed, the West then backed Polish leader Joseph Pilsudsky and Ukrainian nationalist Simon Petlyura’s Russo-Polish war based on the dual concepts of Intermarium and the Prometheus project.
Once again, now led by the U.S., rightwing anti-Russia forces are looking to Poland and its ultra-anti-Russian allies to lead an increasingly aggressive front against Russia.
The U.S. has been pouring weapons into Eastern Europe, backed up by an aggressive program of military training and military exercises. An aggressive system of bilateral military agreements between the U.S. and its East European allies threaten to pull Western Europe into a multilateral conflict with Russia via Article 5 of the NATO charter.
The authors trace these historical developments as a resurrection of the Intermarium—a geopolitical concept that envisaged an alliance of countries reaching from the Baltic Sea over the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea that would serve as a alternative power bloc between Germany and Russia.
Marlene Laruelle, Ph.D., is an Associate Director and Research Professor at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, Elliott School of International Affairs. Ellen Rivera is an independent researcher specialized in the post-war German far-right, with a particular focus on post-war anti-communist organizations. – Editors]

That’s cool… Visups podcast thefarm did a series on WACL….that said I think you should recall the story goes back even farther that thay the west in the form of Jewishnwall street bankers and American industrialists basically funded the mostly Jewish Bolsheviks in their overthrow of the provisional government and western industrialists took over many y Russian resources (the Koch bros dad was out there) until (I think under stalin) they got run out.
Souce: wallstreet and the Russian Revolon by Dr Richard Spence
Then the mostly Jewish bolsheviks starved millions of Ukrainians to death, a crime covered up at the time by the US media and government
Then the Trotskites (after millionaire Jewish revolutionary Trotsky got killed) became the NeoConservative movement (also mostly jewish) and fought communism…and other stuff
Maybe there is a common factor… is the current president of Ukrainian jewish? Uhh..yes
Just curious, have you heard of Talpiot and Unit 8200? I think we need some good research on this as I’m sure that many if not most are unaware of this deep state Israeli agenda.
James are you listening?
I’M more worried about their plan to nuke Europe Russia and the US if Israel faced destruction…what was that plan operation Samson ??
They kinda talked it back later andt I can’t find the general’s quote about it right now… it a was rather psychotic revenge fantasy.
You ask where is the fascism now? Well, it seems to be a little here, there and everywhere.
How is fascism defined? Here’s a very short straight forward definition from Merriam-Webster borrowed from the Internet that seems about what one would think:
Definition of fascism
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control…
I’m sorry, but that description of government and leadership fits Putinland to a Tee.
Llke Riley Waggaman said, more or less, why go de-Nazifying the next country when you should be deNazifying your own.
In fact, there’s nothing I can think about Putin that’s not fascistic.
Basically, he’s a thug, and a sadistic murderer. Does he really need to take out his opponents by way of slow poisoning via polonium? No doubt it’s a sick fetish he’s developed over his years of power.
Maybe you should be asking where is the socialism?
Is there one in a country controlled by Putin’s oligarchs? Are the fruits of labor fairly distributed in Russia? To be fair, these people do provide a lot of work for European boat builders, and upwards of a hundred people can find a livelihood servicing the needs of the elite on just one of many of their lovely yachts.
Also pointed out by Waggaman was that the entire Russian justification fed to the masses for invading (sorry – for special operations in -) Ukraine over deNazification kicked into high gear only a couple weeks prior. As he said, no one was talking about it before that. So, it’s total war propaganda, total bullshit. Even describing the situation in Donbass as genocide against the Russian-speaking people is an exaggeration. They’ve been firing weapons at one another for 7 years, plus in the film “NYC to Donetsk and back” it’s mentioned that it was a “hot” war back in 2015 when probably most lives were lost. It was also mentioned that civilians and children lost their lives. That is tragic. A Corbett member relayed something he had heard about a Ukrainian soldier being ordered to shoot a baby. This falls under the category of a war crime. No doubt about it. And I’m sure there are more instances out there we don’t know about, but given the cultural stability demonstrated in the film, I don’t see a genocide and ethnic cleansing going on. That, again, is pure propaganda. The so-called evacuation to the Rostov region seems to have be a sham concocted for pro-invasion propagandist purposes. Reportedly, there were more people at the border to hand chocolate out to the people trickling across than there were evacuees.
Fast forward to what he Russians are doing now. You read the news, right?
You asked where is the fascism? The answer: It can be found streaming across the Ukraine border heading to Kyev.
If you look into what Mussolini, the guy who founded Fascism, said about it it describes a system far more like China or the USA in that both of those places have a huge “Public Private” “Corporate-Government” alliance. In China the Gov chases Corporations and Banks into doing the Partys will and in the USA the Banks chase the politicians into doing THEIR so both systems are similr
My (limited) knowledge of Putin is that he is more of a personal strong man, wanna be king type but he may also fit the above description
Where in your article, James, is the back-up for the Russian claims of Ukrainian promoted genocide against the Russian-speaking people of the Donbas that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz berated Putin and the Russians for making?
Anyway, one thing is very clear (unless proven otherwise at some point as fake news), the Ukrainians are very nation-centric, and whatever revolution occurred in 2014, Western influence notwithstanding, they like what they have, and they don’t want Putin coming in and installing his own fucking puppet government. If this is Putin’s idea of push back against Western “aggression”, in this day and age, he is one helluva loser, and as some say, this could very well turn out to be his Waterloo.
Also, showing photos of political hacks, heads of state, diplomats, state operatives of all stripes shaking hands as pointing to corroborative cooperation such as Putin with Schwab, Putin with Kissinger, is meaningless.
How many photos are there of Muammar Gaddafi making nice, shaking hands with “friendly” heads of state, that is, before they offed him?
Your own sources of propagandized “news” for your article are cherry-picked to paint your own narrative here, James.
Reality is a conundrum, no matter how you slice it.
The question nevertheless remains;
What happened to the entire Polish government on April 10th, 2010?
They simply made an offer that fate could not refuse when they entered en masse, 96 representatives strong, into a single aircraft destined for Russia to attend a symbolic event honoring the massacre of 22,000 of their countrymen?
This massacre was allegedly covered-up. So was the massacre of the Polish government who attempted the audacious exploit of paying tribute on the alleged purpotraitors land.
Cover-up upon cover-up: a collaborative, collective effort on the 2D chessboard.
Who massacred the entire Polish government and who helped to cover it up.
A kind of composite “who is John Galt” question for me.
Sometimes a plane crash is, rarely, just a plane crash. Would Russia want to kill the senior members of the Polish government because of an 80-year-old event?
The wiki article quotes: “Meanwhile, the situation in the cockpit was one of very high stress.[3] As the weather continued to worsen, the crew became increasingly aware of the extreme difficulty they would encounter in landing at Smolensk. The crew may have feared a negative reaction from their passengers should they have to divert to an alternative airfield.”
The pilots were right to fear a negative reaction. Perhaps all those powerful people caused their own demise by freaking the shit out of the pilots.
Would Russia want to kill the senior members of the Polish government because of an 80-year-old event?
Actually, I think this probable murder was perpetrated, as usual, to obtain a variety of objectives that are, at present, quite beyond me but which may earn some clarity in light of today’s events in Ukraine. Poland had just become an official member of the EU and Kacyzinski was a reputed Euro-Sceptic for example. He was also a devout Catholic. And a pretty popular president as presidents go. As for the 80-year old Katyn event, it adds the sort of ironic and symbolic “bras d’honneur” that the elites seem so fond of. A sort of signature. And perhaps a sort of morbid sacrifice.
If he was a Euro-skeptic and a devout Catholic, it seems more likely the Anglos wanted him dead rather than the Russians.
I acknowledge that there are many interwoven and negotiated reasons for world events.
I think it’s more likely an entity that transcends religion and nation. An entity that doesn’t practice a religion itself except the religion of One World Government. And perhaps Catholicism is not conducive to converting the population over to forsaking family, community and immaterial spirit in favor of worshipping sustainability and Gaia and identity politics and Europe as a stepping stone to something even larger. So they prefer to get rid of the Catholic role models especially if it simultaneously accomplishes other goals. Globalist powers generally seem to dispense with religion, perhaps because they generally espouse materialist collectivism for the cyber, sex and soma-managed masses while cultivating crony corporate interests. Something more obscure and deep-seated than the WEF.
The point of my John Galt question is that the search for an answer leads to thinking above nation states, anglos, slavs, asians, blacks, hispanics et al and seems to federate around elitist technocratic world government control of mass “human resources” along with all of the other resources of the world that “they”, instigators and collaborators of all stripes, are absconding with.
my rapid, unedited, free-association, lunch break impressions…
Nosoapradio
Globalists only appear to practice no religion imo… while many appear to be non practicing Jewish Chris Knowles over at Secret Sun Blog has plenty of stuff to show that they likely do practice some form of religion among themselves.
Hmmm, perhaps, while keeping the plebs as materialistic as possible and thus as dependent as possible on their material solutions.
I haven’t looked at Chris Knowles but I think I saw that Greg Carlwood over at the Higherside Chats has interviewed him. Maybe I’ll go take a look at that after my classes. Sounds like a nice material solution for the evening.
At any rate, thanks for the reference.
Nosoapradio
He comes out best when he talks but he does ramble on before making his point.
He is also kinda weird in his ideas, however I think he is correct and the world is far weirder than we plebs imagine 🙁
“..keeping the plebs as materialistic as possible and thus as…”
Protocols of the elders of Zion says that funny enough…and freemasons have been at war on organized religion for a while
My guts tell me it has to be “a ritual” for 1 or 2 level of the hierarchy.
Watch this its thought provoking. If anything there’s legit intellectual curiosity. Given the older globalist had a Classical education Ancient greek/Latin mytho up bringing.
https://battleplan.news/watch?id=6215371e2e4fa91b4a66fe92
and the answer to my composite question “who killed the entire Polish government and who covered it up” would probably not be correctly answered with a nation state.
Sounds like you are really upset by Putin, given the swearing. Don’t be and don’t get so caught up in the Western propaganda. This war is a means by which the governments of the world can turn the attention of their citizens away from deadly corona vaccines and their forced dispersal just as citizens like the Canadian truckers were starting to mobilize against it.
frogsoup,
Thanks for posting your stories.
yes, agree.
Thanks for your touching personal stories which confirm those in the heartbreaking Nuoviso documentary “Ukrainian Agony – The Hidden War”. It shows what Ukraine is doing to its people in Donbas. No outrage in the West as NATO-backed thugs indiscriminately kill innocent civilians. It is quite depressing to live in a world that has no interest in the truth, too many have no interest in waking up from the deep sleep that enslaves them.
I wouldn’t completely dismiss Putin as James does, however, it is good to try to understand him in the context of what he has said and what is happening as a whole. The Western perversion of the truth is much worse IMO. Ultimately, we need to break free of all these ideologies and belief systems, otherwise, we are doomed to repeat it all over and over again.
Peace and prayers to the good people of Ukraine regardless of which side they are on.
“..Its not fake news, there is an actaul ethnic cleansing going on in the don bass region. Ukraine shelled that region 7 plus years…”
That is sad… but it’s their problem just like the Bolsheviks starving Ukrainians to death back in the day was. Not worth a single life or a single dollar.
Only they can fix their issues…even if it’s by ethnic cleansing, which, if peopl6dont like each other to THAT degree might just be the only long term option
The lack of mention of fascism is a grand oversight for it is one of the demands Putin made so it has to be addressed.
It is also left out of mainstream media, of course, for the idea that the US has financed Ukraine fascists for more than 70 years, host Prayer Breakfasts for them both in Washington D.C. and in Ukraine, overlooks a huge chunk of american history namely the Ethnic councils set up by Nixon after the loss of Dewey in 1948 to get the fascist vote.
This is a matter of record.
Ukraine’s current government is this same fascist OUN-B and they have errected statues to fallen Ukrainian fascists.
Never mentioned.
These fascists are the people who have murdered 15,000 in Donbas.
They are the Ukrainian government that NATO is using for proxy war.
An invaluable clarification with hyperlink sources for context. A perfect example of why I love this site, (in a more intangible respect and gratitude way, alas, than an actual concrete monetary one.) anyhow
The first news headlines I see in the morning, every morning, are bleated out by the Bing microsoft msn feed.
This is deliberate. It allows me to literally behold as my students spit these war propaganda headlines out verbatim as if they were their own cogitated opinions. When I say “war propaganda” I mean in a very large sense; that we have been in constant war, team elites against team “masses”, since… forever, the Alex Jonesian “war for your mind. It allows me a glimpse into the universe of my students so as to have some footing when discussing the world with them under the pretext of ‘practicing English’.
And something occurred to me. Again. It’s not a new idea at all. It’s something that Wag the Dog hit home very well.
To be specific, it doesn’t matter whether the Russians did or did not blow up some kind of power plant in some obscure city that may or may not be near the Russian border.
If the media blares in international unison that a Ukrainian power plant and/or gas pipeline was blown up and that the people must put wet towels in their windows to avoid breathing ambient poison and that the environmental and economic consequences will be dire and so on and so forth, or even if it’s just insinuated
then the poison fog of those energy, environmental, aggression spectres have been conjured in the minds of all of the world’s harried and trusting and injected peoples.
And the spell has been cast and the shadows of spilt chemical ooze will lubricate any consequent “official” sustainable development, Great Reset or Greta Thunberg measures ordained by experts. It is humanity’s mental realities that have been invaded, bombed, poisoned, transgressed, preparing them for the next spectre in the continuous onslaught on their, on OUR perceptions of “what is”.
Just the simple idea that “What is” appears to be much less important than “What appears to be”. Who has the monopoly on “What actually is”? In the apparent chaos and confusion of conflictual ‘what is’ and ‘what appears to be’, the monolithic paradigm of “What practically and acceptably is” emerges in the media and minds of world communities, swirling up from the clouds and dust of their proclaimed creative destruction;
ab chao ordo,
of which the ol’ Blanche Dubois trapped in a Skinner box dilemma is a superficial, clinical, material element. Something to the approximate tune of:
“I don’t want what is! I want what should be!”
So he who controls the materialistic skinner box controls the minds of men?
Perhaps only the ones who’ve been deprived of their spirit…who’ve been convinced they have none?
thank you!!!!!
Great article and I have to admit it is difficult to not think in us vs. them. I see it as our bad guys against their bad guys and I like to get our bad guys get a slap in the face. It helps with the frustration, I guess.

“…difficult to not think in us vs. them….”
I know exactly what you mean.
The TV and movie culture has infested the western mind which is why we want to see good and bad sides. Even people who know better have to struggle with years of programming by smart. Mostly Jewish, culture creators who shape our psyche into something easy to lead around like a bull by the nose
your bullet point overview is too simplistic and, somehow, pro-Russian.
Well, spiritofsky, as a university professor, you certainly know that a Sunday newsletter bullet-point overview, by definition, is generally simplistic. A mere outline, a trampoline for further investigation. (For those who are not fleeing their country or crouching in a bomb shelter, of course.)
Indeed, a Sunday newsletter is certainly not meant to be a survival handbook to deal with military invasions of your livingroom and livelihood!
Perhaps you could provide in response to Mr. Corbett’s “dry” and “simplistic” analysis, a few key bullet points of your own that you feel were omitted, emanating from your personal on-the-ground and academic perspective? That would be both constructive and fascinating!
“…what you need to know about the Ukrainian crisis is that the war should be stopped. That should be the main narrative.”
Surely, as a person who subscribes to and teaches the truth, you don’t want the “main narrative” as you say, to be an extension of the one that has brought you to the very situation you find yourself in at present?
Whatever the case may be, and though there seems to be some campaign to make people believe otherwise, Mr. Corbett has made it abundantly clear throughout his prolific geopolitical work, not only in empty epithets but deep analytical demonstrations, the ones that presumably attracted you here in the first place, available at your fingertips,
that he is in no way, shape or form “somehow pro-Russian”.
My questions for you are, (since you nevertheless seem to have time between bombings to reflect, compose and type comments here);
Do you want the architects of your current dilemma to be the ones imposing the solution to it?
And would you prefer that the main narrative and propagation of geopolitical context be constrained to the immediate false choice between a rock and a hard place made at the point of a gun?

I’ve fled countries for less than that.
Talk can be cheap, but I sincerely wish you courage, resourcefulness and good luck.
I keep going back to what James Corbett has repeatedly emphasized:
It is a War against us, the people.
All of it, not just the Ukraine-Russian scenario, but all of the chaos and controlled measures instituted by those in Authoritarian positions.
Regular people are the casualties in all of this.
Best wishes for your health and wellbeing, and those close to you. Peace.
Both sides are horrible, it’s really not something that the US or western Europe should concern itself with how other places decide who is going to end up ontop in Ukraine.
If they genocide each other it’s still not worth one American life.
At the end of the day the US was ready to go full on nuke war over missiles in Cuba and fought dirty wars to keep Soviet power out of South America.
SpiritofSKy: Genuinely interested in your evaluation of this documentary: https://off-guardian.org/2018/06/25/watch-nyc-to-donetsk-back-a-new-film
As well as Oliver Stone’s Ukraine on Fire!?
Also; do you know an escape route from someone trapped around the Kiev area?
Isn’t the Kiev regime prohibiting men from leaving (Men Banned From Leaving Ukraine Under Conscription Decree )?
Well… I suspect my conspiracy tendencies have gone into hyper-overdrive but…
Accurate or not, this odd 2018 documentary nevertheless reeks of war propaganda. It has a very unique, almost nostalgic blend of Disney hero-worship style content and homemade documentary confection. It portrays a spunky people, the masters of “flower power” who move forward, undeterred, business-as-usual, though bombs may fall on the heads of their children honored by graves overflowing with stuffed animals. (again, most probably tragically authentic). We see the solidarity of the local theater and the resident actors (literally!) whose houses were bombed so they moved into the green rooms of the venue named after the father of the interviewee as a sort of community, cold-proofing it for their children, making good use of the conveniently integrated kitchen, prolifically performing Gogol, Chekhov and Rock operas about old love stories between Russians and Americans for the accessible art-loving Che/Castro Head of State. This new socialist proto-republic comes across as the dream of the local, simple, proud, nationalistic people who live together in patriotic harmony fighting like highlanders against the ruthlessly bloody child-killing outlanders to protect their Motherland! (not Fatherland or Homeland, as I vaguely recall).
Moreover, Peter von Berg is a most intriguing character. The Americans, House of Cards, Bad Company… his resumé is filled with CIA, international spying and socio-political intrigue…
He, himself, was born in Germany (apparently von Berg is a German name) but his parents were apparently Russian and he grew up in NYC starting a few months before his third birthday.
And he also played in Rollerball whose synopsis begins this way:
In 2018, in a futuristic dystopian world, the nations of the world have disappeared, replaced by global economic cartels, the corporations. These corporations have grouped human activities into six departments: Food, Communications, Energy, Housing, Luxury and Transportation.
Could the Donetsk People’s Republic be a sort of prototype for a new kind of small cartel-owned community nation state, the industrial center for its allotted activity? The documentary does point out in a symbolic way that Donetsk was where the prominent Kremlin Ruby Stars were produced.
Perhaps Texas, Brittany and the Basque Country should all follow the example of Donbass! A translation I’d done about the Rhone-Alpes pavilion at the 2010 World Fair in Shanghai spoke about the cross national Megapoles of the future that seemed might supplant nation states in a Global world… stay tuned…
Mierda bordello!! I’m late for my video-conference!
So I’m sending this documentary to a couple of students. Could help create doubt in the minds of people living in a totally pro-nationalist Ukraine environment.
Ty for spreading the disease ! <3

Bonus1: millions of people flow in the EU as cheap workforce.

https://www.iceagefarmer.com/2022/02/25/merchant-ships-hit-by-missiles-grain-fert-exports-stop-in-ukraine-russia/
He gets a little carried away with some hyperbole when speaking about ships that were “lightly” hit by missiles with no casualties and yet these same ships being “targeted and sunk” but that doesn’t negate the impact on food suppply.
The most striking point for me was at roughly 15.5 minutes and again at 17.5 minutes when he describes the facts that China both bought soybeans and soybean “crush” way in advance and also stopped selling fertilizer last year. Christian Westbrook concludes with certainty that China knew well in advance what was coming this year (with regards to Ukraine and/or just supply chain shortages) and prepared accordingly.
This seems quite plausible and significant to my incorrigibly conspiracy-oriented mind.
You are correct. Not only China, they all knew it was coming, even the little ‘pets’. In Romania, that is now gateway for the migrants towards Europe, at the end of last year they really pushed hard for a former army general as prime minister, as if they knew war times are coming.
Also at the same time, president Iohannis had a really unexpected visit to Egypt, newspapers claiming it was related to selling huge amounts of wheat to Egypt. This article, dated 10/27/21 claims:
“An example in this sense is Romania, which after a consistent harvest this year passed in front of Russia and dominates the sales of wheat on the market in Egypt, the world’s largest buyer.”

EXCELLENT Post!
8Gc58, I liked the way you told the STORY.
Cheers for this post.
What did you expect? Covid didnt work.
NATO was organized in 1949, four years after WW2. Its purpose was to protect Western Europe against an invasion by Stalin’s Soviet Union. Stalin has been dead since 1953. The Soviet Union has been dead since 1991. No one fears an invasion of Western Europe by Putin’s Russia. All of this means that one of two things has to happen: either provide NATO with a revised purpose, or promise that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO.
You don’t have to be a fan of Vladimir Putin to grasp that he has a right to insist on one of these alternatives.
Would the U.S have accepted Mexico or Canada becoming a member of the Warsaw Pact?
Spot on.

Has anyone else seen this? It’s very informative.
John Mearsheimer, an author, political scientist and international relations scholar, gave a lecture in 2015, The Causes and Consequences of the Ukraine Crisis, that has garnered over 11 million views on Youtube, and it is relevant today. He stated that Ukraine is divided and is fighting a civil war between the Ukrainian-speaking people in the northwestern part of the country and the Russian-speaking people of the southeastern part of the nation. The civil war is independent of the struggle between the US and Russia. Mearsheimer blamed the conflict with Russia on the US and its allies as they aim to peel Ukraine away from Soviet orbit and incorporate it into the West. Mearsheimer pointed out that Ukraine is not a vital strategic interest to the US, however, it is a core strategic interest to Russia, and Russian security is at stake. He said that Putin will wreck Ukraine before he allows the West to take it. Russia is a nuclear power and if its leaders believes that its survival is at stake, the threat of nuclear war looms.

Just thought I would pass along this recent interesting press conference about Ukraine government corruption and even some ties to the Biden family. He states the claims are all backed up with evidence including documents and recordings.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/BgOp6lPTQtbb/
The attorneys here claim to have won a court case, just last week, regarding payments from Burisma Holdings to Biden. Perhaps this “invasion” is actually a cover-up operation and distraction tactic? The timing seems quite coincidental. This is fascinating presentation that certainly adds a layer to the current Ukrainian geopolitical battle.

…Abrams actually gave a lighter sentence than the 30 months requested by prosecutors, citing the pandemic conditions in prison as “extraordinarily difficult.” The lower sentence may have practically undermined any interest of federal prosecutors to reach a cooperation deal with Abrams in their ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden.
Archer was involved with Hunter as a board member on Burisma Holdings, an Ukraine-based energy company. He was also featured in the controversial picture with now President Joe Biden.
Joe Biden has repeatedly denied knowing anything about his son’s foreign dealings, even though Hunter Biden himself contradicted that account and a key witness Anthony Bobulinski has refuted the denial.
After the photo above was posted on the Burisma website, Demetra Lambros, the VP’s Chief Counsel, later called for the photo to be removed.
One of the most extraordinary exchanges found in Hunter’s text messages reportedly dealt with Archer complaining that he was arrested by Biden “appointees.” According to press accounts, Hunter Biden responded by assuring him that he was covered and “family”:
“Every great family is persecuted prosecuted in the US — you are part of a great family — not a side show not deserted by them even in your darkest moments. That’s the way Bidens are different and you are a Biden. It’s the price of power.”
That exchange is highly concerning since Hunter knew that he was a potential target of a criminal investigation….

“Throughout the pandemic, public health experts have been emphasizing that ‘we’re all in this together.’ Yet, the decision to attack Ukraine could be an example of Putin himself first over the interests of the world. The ensuing chaos could further drag out the pandemic, which no one not shaped like a spiky massage ball should want.”
The article laments the fact that this reckless war could have a profoundly negative effect on the Ukrainina national vaccination program (“To date, only 34.29% of their (Ukrainian) population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.”

UPDATE 1-Satellite outage knocks out control of Enercon wind turbines
https://archive.is/GyiEH
FULL article
* Remote control of 5,800 wind turbines knocked out
* Enercon says disruption coincided with Russian invasion
* Says working with providers to resolve problem (Adds Enercon comments, changes slug)
BERLIN, Feb 28 (Reuters) – Germany’s Enercon on Monday said a “massive disruption” of satellite connections in Europe was affecting the operations of 5,800 wind turbines in central Europe.
It said the satellite connections stopped working on Thursday, knocking out remote monitoring and control of the wind turbines, which have a total capacity of 11 gigawatt (GW).
“The exact cause of the disruption is not yet known. The communication services failed almost simultaneously with the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Enercon said in a statement.
Enercon has informed Germany’s cybersecurity watchdog BSI and is working with the relevant providers of the satellite communication networks to resolve the disruption, which it said affected around 30,000 satellite terminals used by companies and organisations from various sectors across Europe.
U.S.-listed satellite communications firm Viasat Inc said earlier on Monday it was investigating a suspected cyberattack that caused a partial outage in its residential broadband services in Ukraine and other European countries.
Enercon is working with the operators of the affected wind farms to set up alternative ways to regain remote control of the turbines, it said, without naming the operators.
It added that there was no risk to the turbines as they continued to operate on “auto mode”.
German daily Handelsblatt was first to report the disruption earlier on Monday.

The biological “experiments” appear to be just taking blood samples to see what infections might have occurred. There’s no indication in the English report that US agents are going to intentionally infect, or expose to risk, anybody. The implication is that there’s some reason to think these folks might have been infected with something.
That said, it’s concerning that the US federal gov’t is conducting research that might have serious implications, about which our “news” media have not informed us.
I still believe we should look for the truth. And, while looking, we will often learn about the suffering.
True. And we learn about ourselves.
Only when a significant number of people learn about who and what they are and how they function themselves, or at least endeavour to do so
can ‘Humanity’ in any group sense be emancipated.
Seems, looking inward first is the only way to look outward with any lasting compassion.

We have to start by looking in the mirror with no make-up.
Thanks for this James – brilliant…
You write:
“A choice between the two wings of the same bird of prey is no choice at all.”
True, ours is not the choice – not really. But what would the in this case two distinct futures look like? Is one more preferable to the other? And if so, what would they entail? Do you have any idea what that is?
So how do we “redeclare our personal sovereignty”? – Have we ever really had any personal sovereignty, and under what regime would be have more than under the other?
Good highlight Siscu!

“…Have we ever really had any personal sovereignty….?…”
No, you can either follow God or the devil.
On a personal note we all need to improve ourselves before we worry about who had the boat wheel.
A person depending on handouts or a person addicted to substances or immoral behaviors is basically a slave whatever government happens to have the big stick.
War is just another depopulation tool and yet another distraction from seeing the bigger picture for the brainwashed masses facilitating the continued stranglehold of power the oligarchs wield over the enslaved population.
War is no more real than the illusion of choice that is proffered around the world in the two party, Red/Blue bullshit political system’s surprise surprise they all piss in the same pot
The sheeple that look to mainstream media for their only narrative need to realise that we are under worldwide deception, point of fact there has been since 1959 a treaty in place to protect Antarctica, nations that have been in past and present wars with one another have never broken this agreement nor have any signatory’s been sanctioned against or removed from the accord Russia and the Ukraine are members as are the UK and Argentina North & South Korean also how is it possible to be war and at peace at the same time?
I believe that the only way this war can be prevented from escalation is for every town every city every nation to declare to their government not to get involve or suffer sanctions of non compliance a vote of no confidence with a public call for change against any administration involved in or potentially wishing to join the conflict.
Every war since the Napoleonic war has been under collusion of governments why would anyone expect anything to change now
The only sure fire way to achieve world peace would be to send the politicians and world leaders to the front and make them fight first

Thanks for the history lesson to put the events in greater perspective. That phone call from Nuland was disturbing. I abhor the way the US sashays in and inserts its shills, then leaves them hanging, or arranges it. What about that pallet of billions from Obama that I keep hearing about? Well done, James. There are no “good guys” at the top of these political food chains orchestrating this stuff.
The people in Ukraine have no choice? As maybe the people in Canada, Australia, Austria and any other country you would like to add.
But do they not have a choice?
Humanity is in crises. Evil mounts war against us and we pick sides, what about our side? What about birth right as a free human, with inalienable rights.
Putin is shit, Biden is shit, Trudeau is shit. We have personal sovereignty when we disengage and choose personal freedom. Government is shit.

Here is a video on February 28 of an inhabitant of Kiev explaining what the true war story is. President Zelensky has given out weapons “for the citizens to defend against the Russians”. But in reality these military grade weapons are being taken en used by criminal gangs to plunder, to settle scores amongst each other and are going to be used on the citizens. He is walking down the streets in Kiev and what he fears most is not the Russians who are tens of kilometres away, but actually being shot by criminals who have gotten their weapons from Zelensky. That is the real war story according to him:
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=pandemietv/rjngvpfs&jwsource=cl
Zelensky’s campaign seems to have been a perfectly executed predictive programming psyops into the heads of the people. His campaign began years before the election. If my understanding of the situation is correct, after the color revolution Zelensky founded a company that made a series named Sluha Narodu or ‘Servant of the People’ in which he played the president of the Ukraine. So in the election his company transformed into a political party with the same name, and he was elected president because everyone was already comfortable with him being president. Genius-level stuff.

Hi James and all,
I am and have been a follower/subscriber of James Corbett for I think 8 years now, and I have also been binge-reading/watching/listening to a LOT of other non-msm-media for years before that. I’m fully on board with Corbett’s analysis and have been for a long time in general. In my own words I would say: Please…let no one make the mistake that it’s about country vs country. No: instead it is really about the rulers of those countries sucking you into that war narrative while they are actually waging war against their own population. That goes for both leaders of the West and the East. The Western Central Planners at the moment just need the distraction more than the Eastern ones.
But amongst pretty much everything I agree with, I would like point out one thing James said that I don’t find entirely accurate.
Yes, Putin is as bad and ruthless as Western leaders (although maybe smarter and less incompetent), yes he is close personal friends with Henry Kissinger, yes he part of the NWO (but then the Leninist branch, not the Fabian branch).
And yes, I have noticed that Klaus Schwab mentioned Putin as second in the clip when he bragged that a lot of world leaders were Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.
HOWEVER…Putin did not go through the program called Global Leaders of Tomorrow that was launched in 1992 and that in 2004 turned into the Forum for Young Global Leaders which was a 5-year program of indoctrination into the World Economic Forums principles. A lot of leaders did though. But Klaus Schwab is also a marketeer so he also nominated existing career politicians including Putin who DID NOT go through that indoctrination program.
So the implication of that is that whereas some politicians might take orders from Klaus Schwab, others do not. Those who do not take order from Schwab include Putin.
Again, I agree that Putin belongs to the NWO (different branch than the West), but my point is: let’s not paint with one brush and through one one heap people just because Klaus Schwab mentioned them. Yes, it is meaningful that Klaus Schwab mentions these people but let’s examine more closely because he is also trying to promote his WEF product. So there is a bit more nuance to it. I agree with James that there are probably more than 3 sides of a story, and in this case my conclusion is that Putin is on board with the NWO but not with the WEF.
Nationalism and fascism. A breath of fresh air.

AP FACT CHECK: Biden’s claims in his State of Union address
https://archive.is/hqEND
In his “State of the Union” address, Biden talks about releasing oil reserves, again.
Months ago, Biden had tried releasing U.S. oil reserves in an attempt to lower oil prices. That worked like a BB gun on an elephant. Prices continued to climb in the marketplace.
March 2nd – Wed
With the Ukraine-Russia scenario, oil prices shot up like a rocket.
WTI crude futures surged past $110 per barrel on Wednesday, the highest since 2013 after the IEA warned that global energy security is under threat as the worsening crisis in Ukraine and broadening sanctions against Russia stoked fears of further supply disruptions. IEA executive director Fatih Birol said the current situation in energy markets is “very serious and demands our full attention”, following a decision by its members including the US and Japan to release 60 million barrels of crude from emergency reserves in an effort to alleviate the upward march in oil prices. Meanwhile, OPEC+ alliance of major producers that includes Russia stuck to a planned output increase of 400,000 barrels a day in April.
GRAPH – https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/crude-oil
Many U.S. companies are reluctant to go whole hog on new drilling.
Not only have drilling costs gone up and loan-credit dried up, but the supply chaine issues impact new drilling operations. For example: Fracking sand can be difficult, if not impossible, to find.
Logistically (and by law), there are a variety of limitations to withdrawing oil from reserves. Certainly, it does take some time to release 30 Million barrels.
Eventually, those reserves have to be replenished.

EU Natural Gas
EU natural gas prices briefly hit a record high of €194.72 per megawatt-hour before settling close to €160 on Wednesday, around levels last seen before Christmas of 2021, as fears over sanctions and supply disruptions drove volatility in the market. In latest developments, the EU approved new sanctions against Belarus, aiming at its exports, oligarchs, and central bank, while shunning its financial institutions from the SWIFT global payments system. The sanctions could end in retaliations from Russia and Belarus, with the latter having threatened previously to halt flows of natural gas, while Russia said it will keep exporting natural gas. Also, the Ukraine war entered a new phase with more heavy shelling that could cause damage to vital pipelines. Finally, analysts were worried that utilities won’t refill their natural gas inventories before next winter, while the US can’t increase LNG exports volumes in the short-term due to production capacity constraints.
https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/eu-natural-gas
Again, I want to mention that Natural Gas is sold on “contracts”. It is not like a water spigot where you can just turn it on and off. Advanced contracts have to occur.
Only so much LNG can be shipped or produced in a time frame.

…the CEO of the largest US shale company told the Financial Times in an interview on Friday. “[But] if the western world announced that we’re going to ban Russian oil and gas, oil is going to go to $200 a barrel, probably — $150 to $200 easy.”..
…“I’m talking about a two- to three-year plan. Because US shale, even if somebody adds a [drilling] rig . . . it takes six to eight months to get first production. There’s labor shortages, there’s frack fleet shortages, there’s rig shortages, there’s sand shortages.”..
…Of course, if oil does hit $200, we are looking at a global depression, similar to the global financial crisis of 2008 when oil hit $140 just before it crashed to $30 as the inflationary tsunami became a deflationary shockwave almost overnight…

European natural gas futures soared Monday after reports the Biden administration was considering curbs on Russian crude imports sent shock waves across commodity markets.
Brent surged to $137/bbl and quickly pared gains to trade near $125/bbl around 0630 ET. The focus is European natgas futures, Dutch gas, which jumped as high as 64% to 335 euros a megawatt-hour — the equivalent of around $600 a barrel of oil.

Fed’s Powell talks 25bps hike in March, ‘highly uncertain’ economic effects of Russia-Ukraine crisis
(4 minutes)
https://youtu.be/JMj1CrmzZ-s
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said he supports a traditional 25-basis-point rate hike during the March 15-16 policy meeting.
The big concern for the U.S. central bank going forward will be the economic effects of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the unintended consequences of sanctions.
In a rare move, Powell gave an overview of the upcoming March meeting:
“Coming into this meeting, let’s say before the Ukraine invasion, the committee was set to raise our policy rate. The first of what was to be a series of raises expected for this year. Every meeting was live. Decisions would be based on incoming data and evolving outlook. I also expected we would make great progress on our plan to begin to shrink the balance sheet. The question now really is, how the invasion of Ukraine, the ongoing war, the response from nations around the world, including sanctions, might have changed that expectation,”
Powell told U.S. lawmakers.

Apple & Google Payment Systems Block Russians, Causing Chaos In Moscow Metro System
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/apple-google-payment-systems-block-russians-causing-chaos-moscow-metro-system
EXCERPTS
Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,
Russians attempting to use Apple Pay and Google Pay found that their access had been blocked, causing chaos in the Moscow Metro system.
Irish journalist Jason Corcoran tweeted the following image, which shows long queues at the Moscow metro station after both payment systems stopped working for Russians.
“Apple Pay and Google Pay no longer work on Moscow’s metro system, leading to long queues as people fumble about for cash,” tweeted Corcoran.
Following heavy economic sanctions imposed on Moscow, people with Russian bank cards are now blocked from using the payment services, including Samsung Pay.
“Customers at a number of banks in Russia can no longer use their bank cards with Google Pay and Apple Pay due to newly-imposed financial sanctions on the country,” reports the Verge, noting that such payment methods are less popular in Russia than they are in the west.
“While customers can still use bank cards from these institutions within Russia, they’ll no longer work abroad or when making online payments to stores and services belonging to countries that issued sanctions on Russia,” states the report.
Wary of the impact sanctions will have on the Russian economy, the country has experienced bank runs, with people rushing to ATMs to withdraw large amounts of cash.
“Giving the keys of our lives to companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and the digital world is the biggest mistake for mankind,” remarked one respondent to the story.
In a related story, domain service company Namecheap has also banned Russians from using their service.
Aside from any argument about the rights and wrongs of the Russia-Ukraine war, the story underscores how allowing Big Tech corporations the power to control payment systems based on moral judgments is a dangerous game.
If these entities continue to seek to create monopolies over sectors of the economy, what happens when such systems become the only available payment option?
Uber already blocks people from ordering a taxi if they have previously refused to wear a face mask in some instances.
In our collective dystopian, social credit score future, what’s to stop Apple and Google blocking your ability to pay for something if you voted for the ‘wrong’ political party or got banned from social media over an ‘offensive’ post?

In the public transport system of French cities there are, according to a student who saw them in Lyon this morning on her way to work, posters saying “Tous Derrière l’Ukraine!” (“We’re all Behind Ukraine!”)
And though I was unable to find an example of such a poster on the net, I did find this link which is all about a wildly successful association based in Rennes with this name “Tous Derrière l’Ukraine” which is apparently sending all sorts of survival items to Ukraine(first aid stuff in the photo).
I found this shocking for about three seconds. It felt like 1984 for a moment with everyone screaming how much they violently Hated Oceania!!

PS: The poetic irony of once-separatist Brittany being the headquarters of this pro-nationalist war propaganda, cheerleading and sending material support to a nationalist government.
Indeed (i can read french) this is “the great get in line” conform to authority reflex. middle age Gnome-Chomsky had a similar analysis back in the day. In Canada at the Federal Parliament a Separatist MP towing the Ukraine line.
To place it into context. In Canada 1 of 10 province took a separatist stance for the last 50 years. in the last 20 years it settle down.
The similitude with Ukraine in a scenario where Quebec would secede expose the whole Bloc Quebecois hypocrisies calling for NATO or EU or USA intervention. IS Everyone under spell?????
The likely scenario pushed was for USA or France to recognize Quebec sovereign status and defend Qc against UK/Ca violence. Just like Russian Fed is doing with the new republics.
Basicaly that would create a federal precedent abroad to be use against Qc or any province who would democratically leave Canada.
I think the only purpose this entire conflict serves is a giant distraction from the anger and frustration people had with their governments over the Covid PYSOP, and to give the US/Europe fuel for their War on Domestic Terror. Ukraine will become the next Afghanistan, and the new Al-Qaeda will be “White Nationalists” who believe conspiracies
and are against Covid mandates. The Parasite Class doesn’t mind destroying and destabilizing any region to achieve their goals. I’m my opinion that’s where this is headed. It’s to further the War on the 99 percent and ensure when they roll out the next PYSOP global crisis, they’ll have the narrative and tools in place to quash dissent before it can take a foothold.
As usual the information and commentary here are excellent and I thank all of you for your perspective !
I tend to look at today’s attacks on humanity and the medias control of narrative in a different way , and many will probably dispute my opinion , my conclusions are based on Jim Marrs books last two books ( The Rise of The Fourth Reich , and Population Control How our Corporate Masters Are Killing US ) and research by Barbara Honniger presentation from NOV 2019 JFK assassination conference .
My theory is that near the end of WW2 Himmler flew to England with records of successful test of Fusion Bomb , negotiated deal with English and American OSS for merger of Third Reich into the US for the plans for this weapon ( Big Boy Bomb ) Hitler Death was staged and high ranking officers were exfiltrated to South America , some SS were tried but most were imported into USA where they created current National Security State that has ruled USA since the assassination of JFK November 22 1963 !
Ukraine is just another appendage of Fourth Reich set up by the US DOS ! The Russians lost 22 Million to National Socialist and feared next Bio Attack from 15 US DOD and DOS production and testing facilities in Ukraine 8 that are run by Peter Daszak’s Eco Health
Alliance , Russians first targets !
I wonder if they are using same DOD propaganda firm to manage media , information ANSER Corp ?
It seems too coincidental that the Ukrainian conflict goes mainstream just when the Covid19 plandemic loses steam. Gotta to detract people from the reality of inflation, vaccine injuries, worldwide protests, and pandemic corruption with the drums of war. I have never seen anything as well timed as this.
The current Ukranian regime has been murdering its own people and those people are justified in wanting Russia to help. That being said I absolutely do not trust the Russian government. Let’s not forget before 2014, Russia has had major influence on Ukranian government policies. Both the corrupt Ukranian and Russian governments for years have been complicit in screwing over the citizens especially the ethnic Russian population. Escalating abuses against the ethnic Russian Ukranians happened before 2014 and the Russian government did nothing to stop it despite having pro-Russian leaders in power. If the Russian government didn’t join in on abusing the Ukrainian people, this coup would have never gotten off the ground.
Thank you James you are a force to reckon with. Darkness is receding.
TIPS: I watched The Atlantic council this morning.4 Mars.2022 They are scrambling. They are pushing the patriotic-sympathy so hard. Peterson-Kagan conversation was the same way. On a personal note. I need help with my personal research. I cannot find WEF Schwab adress where he call for the creation of an European strong army.
I been going trough my bookmarks and saved WEF content and i cant find it.
am burnout i been working hard on a project. I wouldn’t ask otherwise.
TY in advance open source Intel community hehe
Yes, many good points were made here; I won’t deny that.
But there is a very simple way to figure out who is the aggressor: whose army is in someone else’s country? In this way we knew the USSR was the aggressor in Afghanistan, in Czechoslovakia, in Hungary. And we knew that the US was the aggressor when their army was in Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Central America, Panama and 100 others.
Now, the Russian armed forces are in the Ukraine. Period. I don’t care what happened in history. I see THEM in the Ukraine. End of story.
She brings up 2014.
Any Corbett Member who followed James’ works knows about 2014.
She also suggests that Zelensky is more of a puppet leader and that he is a corrupt authoritarian.
Thanks for the video Fact Checker.
Gosh, that was absolutely priceless! She went way off script indeed!
(A minor detail: she didn’t say “of course not”, she said “no, not exactly, no…” the subtitles were inaccurate as is often the case) but she went way, waaaaayyyyyyyyyy off script for sure! Awesome! Her unexpectedly honest testimony sent all those nauseatingly self-rightous and politically correct talking heads into a total tizzy! (except for one sympathizer) Excellent. They wouldn’t let her talk anymore but her cheshire smile had the last word!
Exquisite.
Think I’ll watch it again.

Ukraine on Fire: The Real Story – Full Documentary by Oliver Stone
Corbett says:
“But why not start the clock on February 19, 2022, when Ukrainian President Zelensky revealed his intentions to make Ukraine a nuclear power in violation of the Budapest Memorandum of 1994,…”
The link Corbett provides for this statement:
https://www.dailywire.com/news/president-zelensky-suggests-ukraine-may-pursue-nuclear-weapons-to-counter-russia-putin-responds
It’s headline reads: “President Zelensky Suggests Ukraine May Pursue Nuclear Weapons To Counter Russia, Putin Responds”
The Daily Wire article refers to the Munich Security Conference 2022 where Zelenskyy made an impassioned speech. The link to his speech is below:
https://www.c-span.org/video/?518086-3/ukrainian-president-sanctions-imposed-russia-now-not
I listened to Zelenskyy’s speech including the questions and answers which followed. At no time did I hear Zelenskyy mention, or even hint at wishing to acquire, or having any intentions of acquiring nuclear weapons, or of making Ukraine a nuclear power. Nowhere did he say anything of the sort.
He did express great frustration of not having the protections of being under NATO’s Article 5 which would be afforded if Ukraine was a part of NATO, which is understandable given the fact of being surrounded by 150,000 Russian troops. Who wouldn’t be freaking out?
Please prove me wrong, but your “nuclear intentions” inference and your Daily Mail link backing it up amounts to a rather gross distortion of information. It’s plainly misinformation, which at best represents very sloppy work on your part. I assume it’s not a conscious mistake. Maybe you were simply picking-up on disinformation, unknowingly.
In any event, such misinformation/disinformation unfortunately lends credence to Putin’s aggression beyond mere apology.
I applaud your “start the clock” argument as well crafted, and I joke to myself that Putin probably doesn’t have anyone – or have enough rubles to find anyone – clever enough to devise such a historical framework in the manner you have.
But, at least you should keep it straight, should you not?
And, if I’ve got this all wrong, then I very humbly apologize in advance.
Cheers

DESCRIPTION

Run time: 1 h 34 min

Director: Igor Lopatonok
Writer: Vanessa Dean
Ukraine. Across its eastern border is Russia and to its west-Europe. For centuries, it has been at the center of a tug-of-war between powers seeking to control its rich lands and access to the Black Sea. 2014’s Maidan Massacre triggered a bloody uprising that ousted president Viktor Yanukovych and painted Russia as the perpetrator by Western media. But was it? “Ukraine on Fire” by Igor Lopatonok provides a historical perspective for the deep divisions in the region which lead to the 2004 Orange Revolution, 2014 uprisings, and the violent overthrow of democratically elected Yanukovych. Covered by Western media as a people’s revolution, it was in fact a coup d’état scripted and staged by nationalist groups and the U.S. State Department. Investigative journalist Robert Parry reveals how U.S.-funded political NGOs and media companies have emerged since the 80s replacing the CIA in promoting America’s geopolitical agenda abroad.
Executive producer Oliver Stone gains unprecedented access to the inside story through his on-camera interviews with former President Viktor Yanukovych and Minister of Internal Affairs, Vitaliy Zakharchenko, who explain how the U.S. Ambassador and factions in Washington actively plotted for regime change. And, in his first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Stone solicits Putin s take on the significance of Crimea, NATO and the U. S s history of interference in elections and regime change in the region.
Great article. Yes, we like to fool ourselves with some “Hopium”. Because we forgot our duty and responsibility in this world.
…..And here’s another perspective of the events of the 2013/14 Maidan uprising seen through another lens:
“Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzNxLzFfR5w
Both documentaries, “Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom”(2015) followed by “Ukraine on Fire: The Real Story”(2016)are propagandist in nature, each supportive of their own biased political perspectives, and skewed in their storytelling:
For instance, around the 7 minute mark of “Ukraine on Fire”, the narrator, before going on to spend considerable time detailing Western Ukraine’s embrace of German Nazism during WWII, spends the most briefest of moments with a single, solitary phrase in stating “…a large part of Western Ukraine’s population welcome the German soldiers as liberators of the recently forced upon them Soviet rule…”
“…recently forced upon them Soviet rule…” is “Ukraine on Fire”‘s one and only awkward reference to explain decades of Soviet repression of Ukrainians, including the massive starvation of its people in the early 1930’s know as the Holodomor Genocide, when literally millions of Ukrainians starved to death from deliberate, Stalinist Soviet policy:
https://borgenproject.org/holodomor-genocide/
https://www.britannica.com/event/Holodomor
Might early to mid nineteenth century Soviet collectivist repression have branded upon the psyche of ethnic Ukrainians an extreme sense of longing for independent nationalism at all costs, even if it meant embracing German fascism, if that fascism were, indeed, warring against the Soviet Union?
Without offering any excuses, you would think “Ukraine of Fire: The Real Story” would at least spend a little more time on the subject than one awkward phrase, because even if it’s controversial, the societal impact of the Holomodor is of historical importance. Yet “Ukraine of Fire” doesn’t so much as barely touch upon it…. Why?
Because it explains, in large part, as a whole, the ethnic Ukrainians’ fever pitch for identity, independence and the perceived freedom that an alignment with Europe and the West would provide, as opposed to a continued alignment with Russia. There is such a palpable, deep seated desire for autonomy among ethnic Ukrainians, that even though Western meddling had occurred behind the scenes, as “Ukraine on Fire” depicts, no degree of Western machinations, money and manipulative NGO’s, or newly minted Euro-centric television programing would have been enough to fire up to such a degree the collective imagination of the people if said desire wasn’t already innate and embedded in the populous. Unfortunately, for the sake of narrative, discussion of such historic precedence of prolonged and widespread Soviet repression was dubiously avoided by “Ukraine on Fire”.
Yet, on the other hand, on the opposite side of the propaganda coin, “Winter of Fire” glaringly avoids the subject of far-right Ukrainian nationalism, altogether, with its direct connection to down-right fascism and Nazism, and covers up any of these groups’ involvement in the Maidan protests. The documentary was careful not to show a single gathering of these various fascist groups, or if they did, it was absent any visuals of banners and flags depicting their fascist symbolism and or militaristic garb.
Neither of these two “documentaries” present a full and truly unbiased dialogue.
