The Greatest Trick of All

by | Apr 25, 2022 | Newsletter | 79 comments

Magic is the ability to make someone believe something that isn’t true. It follows, then, that most great magicians are keen observers of human psychology and that magic routines are, at base, a skillfully arranged set of techniques for preying on our cognitive biases.

As impressive as the rabbit-from-hat illusions and the sleight-of-hand deceptions of the masters of stagecraft can be, however, these parlor tricks pale in comparison to the societal manipulations that are conducted by the masters of statecraft every day.

Case in point: martial law. I have long said that when martial law actually comes to the “free and democratic” West, people will be cheering it on. In case you didn’t believe me, I present the phenomenon of the public cheering on the most egregious abuses of medical martial law over the past two years as evidence for my contention. All it took was a concerted campaign to get people to fear coronavirus, and suddenly the very same people who once denounced those warning of martial law as “conspiracy theory” were loudly applauding the jackbooted thugs of the COVID-1984 police state in their harassment of elderly women and innocent children and random citizens.

Yes, it’s one thing to theorize about the Stockholm Syndrome that allows—in the memorable words of Aldous Huxley—”the controlling oligarchy who have always existed and presumably will always exist to get people to love their servitude.” It’s another thing to actually see it taking place.

This ability to get the public on board with policies and practices that are self-evidently against their own interest is not just surprising. I am here to argue that it is a type of magic trick.

I mean this in two key senses of the idea of a “magic trick.” Firstly, the would-be social engineers’ ability to reliably martial support for ideas and actions that would have been dismissed as lunacy mere moments before is, at first glance, so incredible as to be magical. But secondly, and perhaps more importantly, this magic, like all such sleight-of-hand, is, at bottom, precisely that: a trick.

Today, let’s take a look up the sleeve of the magicians of social control, expose the tricks they use to garner public support for their agenda, and see how we can break the spell they have cast over the masses.

Do you know about the cheap parlor tricks that the social engineers employ to gain your consent? In this month’s edition of The Corbett Report Subscriber, James exposes the magicians’ tricks.

The Trick

Although there are many, many different types of magic tricks, most of them rely on a handful of techniques for misdirecting the audience while the sleight-of-hand is performed. Whether it’s smoke and mirrors or a beautiful assistant or a stream of well-rehearsed patter, magicians are masters at keeping attention focused elsewhere while the real “magic” is taking place out of the audience’s line of sight (or, even more daringly, in plain sight but out of their field of attention).

Let’s look at an example from mentalism, that branch of magic in which the performers “read the mind” of the audience or use their mental powers to “predict” the audience’s reaction to certain questions. There are many ways that these tricks can be pulled off: it can be as simple as asking a question in a certain way in order to encourage a particular response or as complex as meticulously planting a series of subliminal suggestions in order to elicit certain pre-determined responses from a mark.

This is how a master mentalist performs the trick on (ironically enough) a pair of advertising execs:

And this is how a master social engineer performs the same trick on the gullible masses:

No, that’s not the blog of a deranged psychopath with a Putin obsession. It is the homepage of switchoffputin.org, a website that has been set up to promote “Switch Off Putin,” a report that purports to show how Europe could “switch off Putin” by completely boycotting Russian oil and gas and thus bringing peace and harmony to the world.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe it is the blog of a deranged psychopath with a Putin obsession.

As an idea for bringing peace to the world, it’s self-evident claptrap. But as a demonstration of how to successfully influence an audience, it’s an example of real-world “magic” that would make any mentalist jealous.

You see, the architects of the New World Order have a problem: most people recognize that the Big Oil version of “environmentalism”—that is, the imposition of a technocratic system of energy rationing and resource restrictions in the name of “saving Mother Earth”—is a crock. Year after year, poll after poll shows that, despite an unprecedented 52-years-long-and-counting propaganda campaign designed to instill fear of climate catastrophe in the public, the threat of global warming still ranks near the bottom of most people’s priority lists. And, when push comes to shove, most people are not willing to pay even token amounts of carbon indulgences to the Al Gores of the world in order to appease the weather gods.

Enter the social engineer magicians (related to, but not to be confused with, the “cyber magicians“). They know that getting the public to “spontaneously” and “voluntarily” hit upon the “right” answer—a fervent desire for carbon credits and energy rationing and climate lockdowns and all the other elements of top-down neofeudal control—requires employing the old mentalist trick of posing the right question in the right way.

I covered the magicians’ first attempt to pull off this reframing in my #PropagandaWatch episode, “The Pandemic is a Test Run.” In that video, I documented the ways in which the successful scamdemic fear campaign was being used as leverage to reframe the climate agenda. Suddenly, the public was being asked to equate the climate “emergency” to the scamdemic “emergency” and to prepare for “climate lockdowns” and other emergency measures commensurate with those that they had just happily accepted in the name of saving the world from the scourge of COVID-19.

Unfortunately for the would-be social engineers, the COVID hysteria is wearing off. In 2022, appealing to people’s warm and fuzzy feelings regarding lockdowns and COVID restrictions is far less likely to get them on board with the globalist agenda.

And so, like the skilled magicians they are, the proponents of this agenda are simply taking advantage of the current mania: Russophobia. And—wouldn’t you know it?—it turns out that the public’s desire to “Switch Off Putin” can be satiated by strict energy controls and resource rationing by a technocratic elite!

Yes, the team behind the “Switch Off Putin” campaign is advocating an immediate European-wide boycott of all Russian oil and gas imports. While such a blanket ban has hitherto been dismissed as impossible, the authors of this report argue that it can be achieved after all . . . if emergency measures are implemented and the entire economy is put on a war footing, that is.

Under the heading, “War Economy in Europe,” they write:

Achieving these cuts will require a previously unimaginable level of cooperation and solidarity within Europe. We may need a state of emergency declared, and an explicit political recognition that European economies are now on a war footing in terms of the rapidity of the energy transition. In some ways the speed of the change will resemble the Covid lockdowns, but with a different trajectory in the longer term. [Emphasis added.]

Lest there be any confusion as to what they’re advocating or how it will be achieved, they go on to state:

Rationing via fair shares is the only alternative: governments will need to introduce price caps and guaranteed minimum supplies at the household levels so that everyone gets a basic amount and those with less ability to pay are not simply cut off. Turning down thermostats will be difficult to mandate and enforce, but with only a certain amount of gas allowed per household the incentive to stick to it will be substantial. As with Covid lockdowns, social pressure to abide by national restrictions will also play a big part. [Emphasis added.]

The blatant manipulation here—the shameless piggybacking on the biggest news story of the moment to further an already-existing agenda—is not even hidden. The magicians who are using this cheap stage trick on the public openly brag about it. The Bezos Post, for example, just published a piece explicitly linking the IPCC-invented “climate crisis” to the current geopolitical crisis and admitting that the tenuous connection is just a convenient way to repackage an otherwise unpalatable agenda:

The only glimmer of hope is that Putin may have inadvertently simplified the politics of such a global quest [switching over to 100% renewable energy]. Convincing voters requires communicating the need for sacrifice—from sleeping colder in the winters to flying less and paying more when you do. But now politicians can make that case in two ways—as necessary to fight both Russian aggression and climate change.

But as crude as this latest attempt to reframe the old dream of neofeudalism is, it seems to be working. The “Switch Off Putin” campaign, boasting its own polling, claims that “Nearly 70% of Europeans want to ‘Switch Off Putin’ by boycotting Russian oil and gas.” And what, specifically, would these people be prepared to put up with in order to bring peace to Ukraine? The Guardian supplies an answer in its “report” on the figures:

Just over 40% said they would be prepared to accept energy rationing to manage demand, and 52.7% that they would eat less meat to reduce demand on Ukrainian exports.

Or, as Klaus Schwab and his cronies might observe: “You will eat ze bugs and ration ze energy, and you will like it!”

The worst part is, this poll (unlike most “polling” hyped by the MSM liars) probably isn’t even far off the mark. Do you doubt for a second that the hypnotized hordes who just spent two years cheering for you to be locked up for the crime of not taking an experimental medical intervention and then dutifully switched to hating Russia and waving blue-and-yellow flags because the media told them to wouldn’t go along with whatever their neofeudal lords suggested in the name of “Switching Off Putin”?

Breaking the Spell

This type of trick is, of course, not limited to the climate agenda, and it is not simply a question of reframing old ideas to make them more acceptable to the gullible masses. All of the techniques of misdirection in the magicians’ arsenal are employed by the social engineers on a daily basis. But that is a topic for a future examination.

For today’s purposes, it suffices to understand this: the greatest trick of all is the ruling elitists’ ability to make you desire your own enslavement.

As I have asserted for years, however, the manipulations of the media mockingbirds and the lying politicians and the salesmen of the globalists’ agenda are not that hard to spot once you learn what is happening. Exactly as a magician’s entire stage show can be ruined by someone explaining how the trick is performed, those who are able to explain the tricks of the social engineers are thereby breaking the spell that has been cast over the credulous public.

In some ways, this is exactly what the independent media has been doing online for the past two years: exposing the false flags and propaganda operations of the establishment for the crude magic tricks that they are. The deceivers, are, of course, adapting to this and adjusting their behaviour accordingly. But there are only so many ways to present the same old ruses; their bag of tricks is not bottomless.

At this point, it is a race against time. Will those who can see through the manipulations succeed in laying bare the lies and breaking the spell before the masses are tricked into supporting the neofeudal, technocratic Great Reset? This is the existential question that the human species is facing.

Whatever the answer, one thing is for certain: only those of us who recognize the magic show as a magic show can hope to see the illusions for what they are. It is our task to educate those who do not yet realize that the daily news feed is in fact a magic show put on to entertain, distract and mislead them. Only then can we reveal the card up the magician’s sleeve and bring the show to an end.

    • “….They will get the information bends….”

      I’m gonna copy that into my daily book 🙂

  1. It’s too late for the masses. If you are religious you could pray for what’s left of their souls I suppose. No real harm in that.

    It’s going to be up to the survivalists to survive what’s coming now.

  2. What’s worse for me, is seeing those around me who DO see the trickery for what it is, yet fully support it anyway. They completely agree with the NWO, because it falls in line with their world view of control over the masses. These people are ardent Zionists, and getting through to them is utterly impossible. I believe I may have stumbled upon a high ranking Creator from this cabal while living in the world’s armpit of luxury. With how he supports Schwab, Fauci, Gates, Harari, etc., you’d think they were good, long time friends. The NWO is most definitely linked to this political movement of Zionism. To date, my “friend” has accused me of being an antisemite, yet his hatred for Arabs is astoundingly obvious. I believe he is actively a part of the world system being ushered in to control the masses and attain the Earth’s resources for themselves. They actually think they’ll get away with it. If we don’t continue trying to awaken the masses, they WILL succeed. I share your articles, Mr. Corbett, whenever and wherever I can. My “friend” hit the roof with your episode on the great narrative, 412. I believe you called out major Zionist players, but because you leave the name of the political movement they represent out of your analysing, they can’t or won’t retaliate. Besides, they prefer operating under the cover of darkness. Thank you for all you do, and for calling out the evil for what it is. Your program is the closest to reality than any other source of information the world has available. Thank you, Mr. Corbett

    • Thanks

      Igor berkut, greater Israel Ukraine….I have heard that idea but not seen any super convincing proof that it’s real yet.

      It sounds super far out, but who would have thought that Palestinians would get yeeted from their own homeland before it happened?

  3. When I was an undergrad at a small college our college doctor was an octogenarian we knew as Dr. Baerd. He was the inventor and patent holder of Amoxicillin (a very wealthy man) and a former NASA scientist. One day I visited the college medical dorm. He spent about 10 minutes with me and he said he wanted to tell me two things. Number one was that most smokers will never quit because they love the feeling of holding smoke in their lungs, not from chemical addiction. Number two, insanity is nothing else but believing things that aren’t true. Coming from a former NASA scientist…I’ve had a lot of time to think about that.

    • I forgot to mention that my son, who was visiting me until yesterday, loved the Slav Life video.

      Glad you enjoyed the vertiginous and breathtaking view of the plunging err, neckline, HRS.

  4. The point is – you cannot preach to the converted. No branch covidian will ever admit his/her having taken the injection was the wrong choice. You’re in fact the nutter for not having taken it. It’s almost a sense of blind fundamentalism. But just wait until that injection bomb blows up in their faces; however, perhaps even then, the branch covidian will say: “the injection never set the bomb off. It was air pressure/a solar mass ejection/granny’s 100 year old brine water breaking”. I’ve never seen such profound and prolific mainstream mental illness as I do now. It saddens me to see so many bright and intelligent individuals who have fallen for fools’ gold.

  5. RE: Corbett’s late April article The Greatest Trick of All.

    Personally, I see this as one of Corbett’s top articles which can easily be geared for the average normie.
    The article certainly is timely, and speaks to the issues of the day.

    I expect Europe to be in shambles by 2030…(i.e. the prosperity of the people of Europe). The rate of acceleration of poor policy decisons is almost exponetial.

  6. For today’s purposes, it suffices to understand this: the greatest trick of all is the ruling elitists’ ability to make you desire your own enslavement.

    James statement.

    Seems to be working for the most part, except for those of us who believe in truth and human right, and dignity.

    James made another comment in a video I can’t currently recall. He said, this is a multi generational change. I believe that, we may and probably won’t enjoy the struggle we fight.

    But we can live in enlightenment and love, we can and do, when you choose too.
    It’s our right, birthright, and our fight. Personally I will never give in to this blatant overreach of simple humans that are empowered by current societal entitlements.

    Humanity will win, and thrive. Cause, hey, for a few million years now it’s what we’ve done. Those who are crushed by current circumstances haven’t embraced what made us the people we are. Those who are negative and dismissive only have the mirror to reflect self.

    The WEF, the WHO and the all of the above have shown their sleight of hand for those who watch.

    Time to ignore and live well.
    Grow food.
    Grow community.

  7. Do not participate.
    Be part of a community.
    Remember your three G’s.
    Fear is necessary for this mafia to succeed.
    Do not dignify “them” with terms like “the elites”, or “those in charge”. Words are powerful. Words are magic.

  8. haha yeah no way this is real I am with you there.

    Other than that, great article. “Magic is the ability to make someone believe something that isn’t true”, this is a really nice definition I never thought of it like that. My five year old son just recently asked me what magic is, because there was a magician doing some tricks for kids at the mall. I struggled to answer him in a satisfying way. Now I can give him an update, thanks!

    • Zatochi
      Look up some NLP tricks on YouTube if you want to see magic….Neuro linguistic Programming is pretty much what most magic is.

      Derian Brown is a bit of a creepy poser but the tricks he does are all possible to do, though (I expect) the MAIN way he gets good results is by picking the subjects very very carefully beforehand just like s stage hypnotist does.

  9. Care to explain why you don’t like about the video more and maybe provide sources? Do you believe this one video you dont like discredits the whole article?

    • Spoken like a puppet who has no idea how manipulated and controlled he is. ?
      Too funny.

    • Fact Checker,
      Since you are such a “professional pundit reviewer-carper critic” with a penchant for belittling, denouncing, denigrating and detracting with hairsplitting quibbling rants like a whining crybaby, then you should write your own glorious, profoundly insightful, referenced article about “The Greatest Trick of All”.
      The April Open Thread is open.
      Show us how it’s done.

      • Fact Checker,
        Actually, I do apologize. I really do. It is inappropriate for me to evaluate your trademark characteristics on these comment boards so harshly.
        I got carried away with the adjectives and adverbs. It was so wildly over-the-top with descriptives that I started laughing and laughing and laughing, and then hit submit.
        At the time, the phrasing hit my funny bone, but was not meant to be hateful.

      • Making arguments about ideas is a good idea. Some ideas are presented with biases toward negativity which also taint discussions.

        Things have been bad for many people who have had to decide to take an unnecessary research drug or lose their jobs and be able to support themselves and their family.

        Forced vaccination does have historical precedent during the small pox epidemic, so people have faced similar or worse choices and conditions.

        Perhaps conditions have been worse for humanity in the past then they are now, or perhaps they are worse now. I don’t know. What I do know is that our lives are composed of time and that some of us at the present time are relatively comfortable, have food and friendship and love and it’s important to take note of what goodness is there rather than focus exclusively on the negative.

        Every person is biased, no person is completely objective. It’s also good to keep that in mind when we look at our own thoughts.

        To be honest, some perspectives shared by religious believers here are dogmatic and a bit rigid in my opinion and so are some of the ideas you share FC are equally dogmatic and rigid. There must be a middle ground and a way to communicate that allows for mutual understanding and perhaps some solutions.

        And I’m sorry to hear about your job FC. But I do think that you should be able to find other work because you appear to have a sharp intellect. In fact, I think you’re a very skilled writer.

        • Perhaps dogmatic was not the right word. I would have to read the definition. What I mean is that it sometimes seems that you are convinced we are doomed, that humanity will be assimilated into some borg-like slavery and you express certainty in this view. I don’t know if we have enough information to make that conclusion with certainty. It’s true that we will all die and so are “on death row” so to speak.

          I’ve been taking a break after the death of an elderly family member.

        • Webster’s online definition of dogmatic:

          “1: characterized by or given to the expression of opinions very strongly or positively as if they were facts
          a dogmatic critic
          2: of or relating to dogma (see DOGMA)”

        • And there are many people who are existing as borg-like slaves, in a state of mass psychosis. I experience it every day among colleagues who continue to take boosters that make them ill and justify this to themselves. It’s really creepy and irrational. To see people who become sick with this supposed disease who have had 4 jabs already and yet to continue to take them seeing with their own eyes how in effective they are.

          But there are still many people who see through the scam and are trying to make a difference, what you call “the remnant” of humanity. And even among some of the people who took the jab are waking up to this insanity in parts of the world. This may make a difference, not certainly but it might. There is a chance.

        • FC, working in the medical field has always been a mixed bag from the beginning. I stuck with it because of the money and that’s the primary reason I am still in it in addition to getting insight into the darker side of humanity. The emergency room is an interesting department to work in despite the bio-fascist tyranny going on. And I don’t care about wearing a mask in a hospital or spitting in a container twice a week to continue to earn a good paycheck. But I want to get out of western medicine in the next 5 years. So I have goals.

          A chance for what? I guess to have a parallel society where people can be relatively free.I remember when I was a kid in the 80s and I’d like to go back to a time like that, minimal technology, in person communication, reading real books as a norm. I know what the agenda is, rather that it is monstrous and revolting. When you say “unchecked” power that’s the key. It has gone on unchecked for far too long. The remnant needs to check these slimy psychopaths.

        • cu.h.j. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. My deepest condolences.
          But good to see you back.

          “There is a chance”

          There are those who are certain that the earth is overdue for extinction level cosmic events that will derail the plans of the Great Resetters that fackchecker is so obsessed with.

          Just as much chance of a polar reversal or a Carrington type event as the future hell our resident doom peddler is so dogmatically certain of.

          The fact that fackchecker is so dogmatic doesn’t mean that he has a clue what is in store for humanity.

          Love conquers all. If one is capable of experiencing it.

        • Steve,

          Thank you for the condolences, I appreciate it. She lived a long and full life and it was her time. It’s weird getting older and closer to death and recognizing the finite nature of our existence in this life. It’s a bit unsettling actually, the unknown.

          I do believe in the uncertainty of the fate of humanity. As you say, another extinction event could be around the corner. I try to keep this in the back of my mind to keep me in touch with the moment at hand.

        • “ It’s weird getting older and closer to death and recognizing the finite nature of our existence in this life. It’s a bit unsettling actually, the unknown.”

          I can attest to that.
          But as the certainty of my mortality has been impressed upon my consciousness recently by age and neglected health. My dread of the unknown has shrunk accordingly.

          There is too much to fear to pay attention to it all. Glyphosate in the food, micro plastics everywhere, chemicals in the rainwater, radiation frying our brains and causing cancer, Nuclear war, government tyranny, etc. etc.
          I could probably continue the list till James would have to clip the post for length.
          Fackchecker’s paranoia isn’t special except that it’s his and he’s really hung up on getting everyone onboard his vision of seeing humanity give up on itself. He loves and cares about children so much that he would deny them existence? Really?
          You can drive yourself to madness with the fear obsession. Or you can uplift yourself with hope and a positive attitude. At the very least you make your time here less dreadful. Unless you like that sort of thing.
          I don’t. Life is too short.

        • Cu.h.j

          “…Making arguments about ideas is a good idea….”

          Not always… if the person your you’re discussing ideas with has a goal of causing you harm any idea they bring to the table (even true ones) will be designed to hurt you.

          I don’t care how right Bill Gates might be on any subject, all his persuasion and arguments are because he wants people dead.

          Nice to see you back btw 🙂

        • I’ll let Peterson handle this one.

          “voluntary confrontation with tragedy and malevolence … that’s a pathway that produces a quality of being that transcends the suffering and limits the malevolence … there are modes of being that justify existence.” Peterson maintains that a noble way of life, achieved through the adoption of responsibility, can make the chronic suffering worthwhile. This is made possible through what Peterson calls meaning. Meaning is a common theme throughout Peterson’s work“

        • For any unsuspecting readers:

          to try to shut down one statement made by someone by appealing to another statement by the same individual is a logical fallacy of association and a strawman.

          As such this does not constitute a reasonable argument.

          I will not even try to address the glaring emotional appeals, plenty examples of that during the past two years. Anyone who did not get wise enough to see through those probably never will.

        • “ Ah, yes, Jordan Peterson! I can’t say I understood that passage you quoted at all”

          Can’t help you with your lack of reading comprehension lad. Sorry.

        • If I assume that being referred to as “monkey” is an ad hominem, I have to conclude that the one who delivered the gut wrenching lecture just days ago, on the topic of personal attacks, is nothing but a hypocrite.

        • “ somebody who carefully cites and quotes judicial decisions and other sources of authority for a living”

          Sure you are. ?

          As far as I know you are a man bun sporting, soy guzzling, college dropout with a prescription drug problem typing, I mean dictating your hateful thoughts from your poor mother’s basement.

        • FC,

          I think mkey was saying that just because Jordan Peterson may be pro “vaccine” or rather Covid gene therapy shot does not necessarily negate other points he has made.

          It’s an interesting thing to think about actually, if someone can have both negative and positive and even conflicting ideas at the same time and if the negative ideas taint the positive ones.

          I was surprised JP was pro Covid jab considering his arguments against “compelled speech” One might assume he would be against compelled injections.

          I do tend to feel differently about someone who has views that I am strongly against even if they share some opinions I have.

          Maybe JP hasn’t done the research on the jab, but as an academic, I think he should do so before promoting it.

        • Maybe Jordan Peterson has changed his mind about the jab. That post is old that you linked FC. Maybe he didn’t say people should be forced to take it, but I’m not sure.

          I must admit once I learned JP took the jab, I stopped listening to him for a while. I used to really like his lectures. People who are still promoting the jabs, particularly the gene therapy shots with all the data that shows that they are not only dangerous for some, but don’t work, should be carefully scrutinized, IMHO.

        • FC come on try not to be offended. I know these are very rough times but the posters here should try to get along with each other a little. Its hard communicating on forums because you can’t see non verbal cues.

          I think that a little bit of compassion goes a long way.

          I think that some of the negative tone of your posts in the past might have hurt some feelings.

          I dont get the impression that you would deliberately hurt feelings.

          I also don’t think people should try to hurt your feelings either. You know those feelings that AI lacks. Humans have those.

      • “….Animals are much more satisfied than we by mere existence; the plant is wholly satisfied, ….”

      • Duck,

        Nice to be back and talk to you again. You said regarding discussion of ideas:

        “Not always… if the person your you’re discussing ideas with has a goal of causing you harm any idea they bring to the table (even true ones) will be designed to hurt you.”

        Interesting perspective here. I think people can use ideas to harm others who may have psychological weaknesses that can be exploited. This is why having a healthy psyche is important.

        Bill Gates has not expressed many ideas that I have found compelling. The over-population myth has been debunked and Gates and others who adhere to it reveal their true intentions.

        • The idea of social justice plays off people’s desire for fairness, open immigration on people’s desire to help others, BLM plays on people’s desire for justice and Trans/Homo acceptance on the desire to let peoplebe free…. it’s not that those ideas have no merit, it’s just the people pushing them do not actually care about any of those issues and just want to hurt society.

          Any dialogue these people use is akin to a kiddie abductor sking us to come see the puppies. 🙁

      • FC,

        Do you think discussion of ideas here will promote liberation from our predicament? Or is it building community that is more important? I figured that this forum was a way to find others with similar views.

        Or is it just a pastime? I happen to think that spreading information will sway public opinion and lessen the assault on personal liberty.

        I tend to not want to deliberately offend people especially those whom I don’t know so that I feel less guilty. I imagine others are the same way.

        Also, it does add strength to ones position to be polite, at least in my opinion. When possible it’s best to take the high road.

        • “c u h j:

          You’re a dear, and your conciliatory efforts are not unnoticed.“

          Ah, fackchecker finally says something that I fully agree with. You are a dear. And you are compassionate and you are motivated to bring comfort to suffering people. For those and probably countless other reasons, you are a dear.
          But Contrary to fackchecker, I am also glad that you exist. I’m glad that your parents were not influenced by some dark entity advising and encouraging them to forgo having children in order to spare them the unknown suffering that is a natural part of life.
          I am accused of not arguing against the ideas. Bull!
          Your very existence is the best argument there is to counter the hideous viewpoints offered by our fackchecker.

    • “……suggestible mind of the goy. The goy…the goy demand….Of course, the goy…mind of the goy….. flaw of the goyish mind ……”

      • Yes… I found all the “goy” references very disturbing. The world is made up mostly of goyim, and I guess all we goyim are hopeless, stupid, ignorant, and every negative thing possible.

        Thankfully the God of Israel has not given up on the goyim. In fact, He invites them (us) to be grafted in to Israel’s olive tree.

        • “Thankfully the God of Israel has not given up on the goyim. In fact, He invites them (us) to be grafted in to Israel’s olive tree.”

            It’s a lie the jews tell people ignorant that the talmudic teachings say jesus is an evil magician burning in hair in hell.

            Talmudic teachings count not blood Jews as animals… these teachings of ethnic superiority and disgust for non Jews have caused a great deal of human suffering on both sides loxism leading to antisemitism

            https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=loxism

          • Btw auto correct changed poop into “hair ” in the last post.

        • Yes…. but sadly the Jewish people practice a religion that they created after the destruction of temple worship.

          The talmudic Jewish religion is in no way related to the actual Jewish religion…. the babylonian rabbis who created it did a great disservice to their people and trapped them deliberately a man made religious tradition to trap Jews.

          There can be no grafting back of people who say Jesus is burning in shit in hell as the talmudic teaches.

        • Lilac dragonfly

          May I suggest the Jewish Revolutionary Spirit by Dr EM Jones… failing that you ought to read up on what the talmud says about Jesus…. one can not unite with people who think the Son of God is an evil magician burning in shit in hell… the most amusing defense being “that was some other jesus who’s mom was mary!”

          Dr Jones gives an honest account of history drawing from many Jewish historians whom he quotes extensively.

    Chinese stocks [HRS adding “and American Stocks” also on Tuesday partly because of China lockdowns] got slammed overnight as rumors about a potential lockdown in Beijing have sent people scrambling for food and other necessities (many items, like fruit, coffee and even disposable diapers are now considered “frivolous” under the terms of the lockdown in Shanghai).
    Meanwhile, the situation in Shanghai, having entered its 4th week (and even longer in the eastern part of the city), has spurred a level of need that is not only leaving citizens desperate – but also reminding many of the bad old days when central planning was the status quo in China, creating an environment that allowed black markets to flourish….

    CARBON TAX

    In other news, the WSJ has reported that the American Petroleum Institute has drafted a proposal urging Congress to adopt a carbon tax, although members of the biggest U.S. oil industry trade group want to delay action until after the midterm elections, fearing it could alienate Republican lawmakers.

    The API proposal calls for assessing gasoline wholesalers, power plants and others a tax starting at $35-$50/ton for carbon dioxide generated by the fossil fuel they sell or use, with adjustments for inflation and other factors.
    The draft says a carbon tax is “the most impactful and transparent way to achieve meaningful progress on the dual goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously ensuring continued economic growth.”

      Economists Warn Of A Recession In Europe If Russia Halts Gas Supply
      https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Economists-Warn-Of-A-Recession-In-Europe-If-Russia-Halts-Gas-Supply.html

      EXCERPTS
      ~~~ Germany’s industry leaders warn of the negative consequences of a gas import ban.
      ~~~ The EU’s refusal to pay directly in rubles tests Putin’s threat to cut off the gas supply, and buyers in Europe “would be running a very real risk of their supplies being cut.
      ~~~ If Russian gas supplies are immediately interrupted, Germany will lose as much as $237 billion in economic output both this year and next…
      … For Europe, the repercussions of a recession in its biggest economy cannot be understated—the snowball effect of surging energy prices would drag most other economies into recession.
      Germany depends on Russian gas for around half of its needs, with many industries using gas and about half of all households heating with gas. The Russian war in Ukraine exposed Germany’s—and Europe’s—vulnerable reliance on gas and other energy flows from Russia. Europe banned coal imports from Russia—as of August—but is still divided on a possible oil embargo, and hasn’t even started a serious discussion on a gas embargo yet.
      Germany’s industry has been warning for weeks that an immediate ban on Russian gas would have severe negative impacts on competitiveness, business, and economy….
    • LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) from U.S. to Europe
      Just so people know…
      It takes years to plan and build an LNG facility, both to manufacture the LNG and to receive the LNG.
      If I’m not mistaken, the main ports in Europe which can accept LNG are in the UK, France and Spain. There are some in other places, but these are the main ones.
      Normal Natural Gas in the U.S. can be stored underground in salt domes, and depending upon the season there are pretty massive reserves.
      LNG is made by a “train” of step-down temperature lowering processes.
      LNG does not store well.
      When it arrives in Europe it needs to be de-liquefied which requires a special facility.
      Europe can only accept/process a limited quantity of LNG at a time.
      According to FXEmpire editor/trader James Hyerczyk: “The United States can turn about 13.2 bcfd of gas into LNG.” (bcfd = billion cubic feet per day)
      “Since the United States will not be able to produce more LNG anytime soon, the country worked with allies to divert more LNG exports to Europe [instead of Asia] to help European Union countries and others break their dependence on Russian gas.”
      “Russia, the world’s second biggest gas producer, provided about 30%-40% of Europe’s gas in 2021, totaling about 18.3 bcfd, according to Reuters.
      The EU wants to cut Russian gas imports by two-thirds by the end of 2022 and refill stockpiles to 80% of capacity by November 1, 2022 and 90% by November 1 each year from 2023.”
      https://www.fxempire.com/forecasts/article/nat-gas-supported-by-lower-production-expectations-977785
      Dave Becker says:
      “According to the EIA, U.S. LNG exports increase by six vessels this week from last week. Twenty-six LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 97 Bcf departed the United States between April 14 and April 20.
      This report week had the highest number of export cargoes departing the United States since the week of February 3 to February 9, 2022.”
        EU Steps Up Purchases Of U.S. Oil
        https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/EU-Steps-Up-Purchases-Of-US-Oil.html
        EXCERPTS
        ~~~ EU crude oil imports from the U.S. are ramping up as the EU mulls an import ban on Russian crude.
        ~~~ Bloomberg: since the start of the year, four supertankers have traveled between the U.S. and Europe, compared with just one a year ago.
        ~~~ U.S. crude oil and product exports hit an all-time high earlier this month.

        A cargo of 2 million barrels of U.S. crude oil arrived this month in Spain. It is, according to Bloomberg, the biggest U.S. oil cargo to arrive in Europe since at least 2016. But it may be only the beginning…

        …The vessel that arrived in Spain this month, however, is the first to do so since the U.S. lifted its ban on oil exports seven years ago.

        … This has made the issue sticky for the partners, with little chance of a quick or easy resolution of the problem. Yet, the U.S. will also be among those benefiting from an EU oil embargo by raising its oil exports to the EU.

        Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil and product exports hit an all-time high earlier this month, reaching 10.6 million bpd as buyers seek alternatives to Russian oil and derivatives. [END]

    I’m impressed with that Ausie, Broc West. He knew more about Hockey than I did.

    There was a fair amount of conversation about the Stanley Cup. Then later, Florida’s Tampa Bay Lightning (colloquially known as the Bolts) was mentioned.
    The Lightning have won three Stanley Cup championships: 2004, 2020, and 2021.
    As James points out, their opponent in the final was the Calgary Flames in 2004 for the Stanley Cup. The Lightning became the southernmost team ever to win the Stanley Cup.

    This was a timely video concerning the Stanley Cup.

    Star Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Victor Hedman was seen chuckling at the unfortunate gaffe.

    It’s not perfect but it’s been great today using it with other students, coupled with the Canadian Carrot rewards video and as a follow-up to the “How to Calculate your Individual ESG score” article.

    Some people really seem to be perceiving the trend now when juxtaposed with remarks about the LINKY Smart Meter system, UBI, CBDCs, ALICEM, the “Tous Anti-Covid” app, the pre-Covid EU Parliament Roadmap towards creating a vaccination card (most probably digital) for all EU citizens and whatever else I manage to casually toss into the limited class time.
    Fun.

  21. RE: Corbett’s article The Greatest Trick of All

    Ron Paul recently had an article: The Ukraine War is a Racket. This quote and excerpt is in-line with Corbett’s point…

    “War is a racket,” wrote US Maj. General Smedley Butler in 1935. He explained: “A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. .”It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.”

    Gen. Butler’s observation describes the US/NATO response to the Ukraine war perfectly.
